Terms of Service
Effective 2026-05-08
Acceptance
By creating a firm account on Tax Shield Pro you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. If you're agreeing on behalf of a firm, you represent that you have authority to bind that firm to these terms.
Use of the service
You may use Tax Shield Pro to plan, analyze, document, and report on tax strategies for the clients of your firm. You agree not to: (a) use the service to violate any law, (b) reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the underlying source code, (c) abuse the API or rate limits, (d) impersonate any person or entity, or (e) attempt to access another firm's data.
Account responsibilities
You are responsible for everything that happens under your firm account, including the actions of any team members you invite. You agree to keep your password secret and to notify us immediately at support@ghlplatforms.com if you believe an account has been compromised. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data your firm enters and the legality of the strategies you implement based on the analysis.
Subscription, fees, refunds
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Your subscription auto-renews until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Settings → Billing — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial months; if you believe you've been charged in error, email support@ghlplatforms.com within 14 days and we'll review.
Trial
New firms get a 14-day free trial with full feature access. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial you may upgrade to a paid plan to keep your data; if you don't upgrade, your account becomes read-only and your data is preserved for 90 days before being deleted.
Termination
You can cancel your subscription any time from Settings → Billing. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, or use the service in a way that creates legal exposure for us or other users. We will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to cure where practical.
Disclaimers
Tax Shield Pro is a planning and analysis tool. Nothing in the application or in any generated report constitutes tax, legal, accounting, or investment advice. The analysis is generated from the data you enter, applied against published tax law as of the effective date in lib/tax-law/, and is intended to support — not replace — the professional judgment of a licensed tax advisor or CPA. The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tax Shield Pro and its parent company are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising out of or in connection with the service. Our total aggregate liability for direct damages shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of the document marks the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced via email to firm owners with at least 30 days notice; continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
